Miscommunication in Workplace

An example of when there was a miscommunication in one of my jobs is when I was doing tree work about 5 years ago.

I was up in a tree about 60 feet up when my boss tried to tell me something from the ground. I could not understand him because of the wind and he got a little bent out of shape about it. It could have been avoided if we were to buy these cool hard hats that have radio communications built into them. I would have been able to understand him clearly and he would not have gotten upset. It wasn't that big of a deal but it didn't need to occur.

Job Interview

I wasn't really nervous during my job interview because I have had to go through quite a few of them already in my lifetime. The only thing that I was nervous about was the other people in the room. I realize that this was a good thing because there is nothing that says that a job interview has to take place on a one on one basis.

One of the questions that threw me was the one about what questions would you like to ask me. I am used to interviewers asking the questions and I came up with a few on my own but I could use some practice in this area.

If I could do anything differently then I would have looked over a set of questions that I formulated to ask the employer. This would have prepared me a little better for this question.

I learned that Angela is really good at doing mock job interviews. I really thought that she did an excellent job at asking the right kinds of questions. It was a very positive experience for me.

Late Blog Sorry

The three presentations that I liked the most were Jamie's one about Gatorade, Julie's one about the Wild Horse Race at Cheyenne Frontier Days, and Emily's presentation about showing Dairy Cows.

I liked Jamie's because it was funny and kept me entertained. I enjoyed Julie's because I love rodeo and it is cool to watch one of these races go on. I also enjoyed Emily's because there is a lot that goes into showing cows and it is a big industry. It showed everyone that it takes a lot of work.
