Ten Years from now. How can I start. i would like to be sitting on a horse managing a ranch at least 100,000 acres. I am planning on graduating from Clemson with my undergraduate in Animal Science in December of 2009. After that, I am going to either Nebraska, Wyoming, or Montana to catch up with some friends, make some new ones, and cowboy for a couple of years. I need this ranching experience because it is required to be considered for the Masters Program I am planning on attending. I will enjoy doing it, so it will not be too terrible. The Masters Program that I am trying to get into is the King Ranch Institute of Ranch Management. It is a very intensive two year program that is sponsored by the King Ranch. Texas A and M is the University that it is through and they are a very reputable school. After graduating from the program, I am going to try to find a job either at a ranch that I have previously worked at or find a new place to set down. In the meantime, I am learning how to ride bareback horses in the rodeo and will work on my roping skills. If my dreams change to include a professional rodeo career then so be it.
